About This Trip
Three days of high-alpine terrain on Colorado's doorstep. Day one eases you in with classic tundra hiking or thrilling whitewater. Days two and three push harder — summit ridges, technical via ferrata, and the kind of open-sky views you only get above 13,000 feet.
Highlights
- Mount Bierstadt — one of Colorado's most accessible 14ers
- Grays and Torreys double summit on a single day
- Via ferrata guided climbing option
- Stanley Mountain and Twin Cones tundra traverse
- Snowmelt whitewater rafting on day one
Day-by-Day Plan

Acclimation — Mount Flora or Whitewater Rafting
- Mount Flora (13,146 ft) — classic tundra hiking, big views, manageable gain
- Mount Blue Sky (14,264 ft) — drive to 14,000 ft, short but high
- Whitewater rafting on Clear Creek — active acclimation, less elevation stress
Day 2
Summit Day — Bierstadt, Grays & Torreys, or Via Ferrata
- Mount Bierstadt (14,060 ft) — 7 mi RT, the most approachable Front Range 14er
- Grays + Torreys double summit — 8 mi, two 14ers in one push
- Guided via ferrata — technical climbing on fixed cables and ladders
Day 3
High Tundra Traverse — Stanley Mountain or Twin Cones
- Stanley Mountain loop — broad ridgeline, open tundra, solitude
- Twin Cones double summit — two peaks, sweeping Continental Divide views
- Square Top Mountain — less-traveled gem above Georgetown
